The Hotshot SL 50 is a new light for Fall 2016. It has the same design as the 2015 Hotshot series. Do not confuse the Hotshot SL 50 with the now-discontinued Hotshot 50. The SL version has lower battery life, doesn't include a seatstay mount, and lacks the "zoom pulse" mode.

The Hotshot SL is nearly identical to the original Hotshot 2W. It has the same LED, a slightly lower capacity battery, and lacks the pulse and random-flash modes. It also comes with just a standard seat post mount, whereas the regular Hotshot also includes a stay mount.

The diffusing lens creates a wider beam which can be seen from a wide angle, and the LED can put out 50 lumens in steady and up to 80 lumens in flashing mode for enhanced daytime visibility.
